You may optionally include up to two minutes of additional time-based media (audio/video). We suggest highlighting between 3-5 of your most compelling exemplars of creative work. The MDes program consists of four semesters of coursework with no studios. Applicants select one of four domains of study—Ecologies, Narratives, Publics, and Mediums—and undertake a core set of courses, including research methods and related topical courses. Following that domain foundation, each student then forges an individualized trajectory, leveraging course offerings across the GSD, as well as other schools and departments at Harvard. During their fourth semester, MDes students from all four domains come together to focus on collaborative advanced research in the form of open projects, in which their expertise finds application on a current issue.

Science and Tech fest of the college was always a big hit of the year as it attracted thousands of participants breaking up their barriers of thinking in the field of science. Clubs are very limited in number so one doesn't get that much social interaction. I did an internship with the Mind tree consulting and it was an amazing experience for me. Now coming to the full-time opportunity there were several offers made from some renowned brands like IBM, Flip kart, TCS, Kanbay, Cognizant, TCS, FICO, Virtusa India, Cordys, etc. M.Des Admission is done on the basis of an entrance examination.
Under these large methodological umbrellas, we use and teach a variety of methods that can help inform, design and test design responses. In particular, we emphasize field deployments, material experiments, participatory design, ethnography, contextual inquiry, participant observation, usability studies and more. We play with paper, cardboard and cardstock, we work with wood, metal, ceramics, and plastics, and we experiment with augmented and virtual reality forms and architectures, as well as connected everyday objects. Competitive applicants have some prior technical preparation and an interest in design as a creative, goal-oriented activity that can contribute to the emergence of innovative new technologies and environments. A unique feature of the MDes program is the design thesis—an independent research and design project that you will conduct under the mentorship of a faculty advisor. The thesis is complemented by a required second-year seminar, elective coursework in the School of Design, and other departments across the Carnegie Mellon campus.
Most MDes courses have a strong focus on the application of artistic and computer-aided design skills to the interpretation of commercial and technical information for the public. Compared to design courses at undergraduate level, this graduate qualification offers the opportunity to focus on more complex design principles and the processes that bring them to life. Every year we used to have two semesters, the ‘spring’ and ‘autumn’ semesters. We read all the foundation courses and also the elective courses. I read the subjects as user experience design, interaction design, mobility design, research into design, etc. In the second year, we did the internship cum industrial training project.

In the second year, you'll conduct intensive research that aligns with an appropriate design process and culminates in a design project that addresses your research question. You will also write a document that describes your steps and discoveries. Throughout the process you’ll participate in public sharing sessions of thesis work and give and receive feedback to further your inquiry and understanding.
In this section, learn how to validate your mobile UX designs. Usability and desirability are critical components of mobile UX. Usability ensures users can easily navigate and interact with your app or website. It helps the users achieve their goals with minimal frustration.
By the end of this course, you will have the skills to set your mobile UX strategy apart and make informed design choices. This iterative process transforms good designs into great ones. When you look at competitors, it’s important not to mimic designs from your research. Let their work inspire you and adapt these ideas to fit your brand and user needs. Let’s look at simple yet effective guidelines for mobile UX design.
